I was recently given the opportunity to try out the brand new strawberry flavor of the Shakeology protein mix, also known as "the healthiest meal of the day!"
Shakeology is available in 6 different flavors, and you can purchase month-long subscriptions to it in either a bulk-sized resealable bag or in individually portioned pouches. I personally prefer the pre-portioned packages because it makes it easier to make your shake quickly before heading out the door on your way to class or to the gym. All you have to do is pour the shake mix into your blender, add ice and milk or water. and you're good to go!
I decided to add milk to my shake mix because I prefer to off-set the heavy protein flavor of shakes with the creamy taste of milk. I tend to add too much ice to my shakes because it never gives you a set amount to add, so using milk instead of water also helps make sure your shake isn't watered down!
Overall, I quite enjoyed the taste of the shake. I decided to drink it in place of my usual afternoon snack, and it satisfied my hunger cravings while also leaving me feel energized and excited to finish the day -- up to and including my daily run.
I was only able to sample the program for one day, but based off of my experience I would love to try it again for a longer period of time, and I would recommend it to those who are looking to not necessarily just lose weight, but to find a healthy way to stay energized and curb cravings throughout the day!
