She was an odd girl, but not the kind of odd you hear about through gossip in the school cafeteria.
She enjoyed the simple things in life, whether it was the way the streets shine after it rains,
or the way her cat comes to cuddle with her in the same place every single night,
or the ways she could always watch the seasons change in her family’s backyard garden.
She took notice of the things that most of her peers ignored, and in that she found her own solace.
Sometimes, she thought, it’s good to be a little odd.
